Fall 2008 - Four Weeks in Italy
Pisa & Cinque Terre

Pisa

Day Ten - Pisa:

Today we headed west towards Cinque Terre, a string of path-connected villages on the Italian Riviera. On the way, we stopped at Pisa to see the Leaning Tower, the walled city, the Cathedral and the Baptistry.

For information about the beautiful city of Pisa, go to Wikitravel's Pisa. For information about the Leaning Tower of Pisa, go to Pisa's Official Tower web site.

Cinque Terre

Day Ten - Cinque Terre:

After Pisa, we headed to Monterosso, the Northernmost Cinque terre Village. We'd be on a bus winding down to Levanto where we'd catch a quick train ride to Monterosso.

After walking about 35 miles (maybe less) to our hotel, we got checked in and cleaned up for dinner. Dinner included the lady of the house giving us a Pesto-making demonstration. Then, of course, we chowed-down. The evening ended with a walk back to our rooms interrupted only by a stop for some vitamin "G".
