Fall 2008 - Four Weeks in Italy
Rome on our Own

Day Eighteen: Rome:

Day Eighteen - Debbie, Pam & Wayne:

Debbie, Pam and Wayne went to the Villa Borghese museum and park today to check out some more art.

For more about the Borghese museum and park, go to: Galleria Borghese or Villa Borghese.

They visited some churches along the way and had lunch at a really good pizzeria. They also enjoyed the gardens outside the Borghese museum.

Day Eighteen - Rich:

I was in less of a museum mode than my cohorts, so I went solo. I walked the streets of Rome, snapping photos like a nut-job. I was amazed at simple things like the old city wall - it's immense size and neverending length.

One target in my sights was the Rome Harley-Davidson - Buell dealer. On the way into Rome, Sister Mary Carol pointed it out to me and I remembered it being near the Borghese Park. I found it, but was disappointed as it only had three motorcycles and the Harley T-shirts I wanted to buy were $75.00/$105.00 for short/long-sleeve. Ouch! - didn't need one that bad. Too bad - they were cool shirts.

Day Eighteen - All Of Us:

I saw Betty and Dell in the park, showed them where I'd seen some interesting Green Parrots, and ran into my three co-travelers near the museum. We ran into Julius and Julia too - Rome is so small. That evening we had a great dinner with all those who had stayed in Rome after the Rick Steves tour.
