Panama
Panama Canal

Panama:

We showed up at Panama City after dark. Some people took the lifeboats into the city. We stayed on board and relaxed. The following morning, we started our journey through the canal.

It was drizzly, but not really raining. We did learn that a few days after our passage that it rained so hard they actually had to close the canal due to flooding. Apparently it was the first time in about 50 years since it has rained that hard.

The trip through the canal is beautiful. Kind of like a big version of the old Disney Jungle ride. We didn't see any crocodiles, but we did see quite a few birds.
