Sedona, Arizona: | |
Pam and I had just picked up the new Harley Touring bike and needed a place to ride to. My wonderful cousin
Bonnie and her awesome husband, Ramsey, got themselves their eventual retirement home just south of Sedona,
Arizona a couple years ago. We'll go there! So easy to say. Less easy to do. Remember, this is July and we're heading straight into the sun. But like
the old ranch-hand I should have been, I thought we'd just do most of the riding in the morning when it's cooler.
Stay with me, cause it gets better. The oil cooler, along with the big bore kit for the bike was three weeks
late already, but since we had the trip planned, those little details failed to stop us. Off to the desert,
in July. Yee Hah! That's what I'm talking about. It's not that it was warm on the way out there, but I'd say an ambient temperature of 116°F might be
interpretted by some as, shall I say, "warm". Some might say that, but the ones that say "What the hell you
thinkin' boy - that's gonna be hotter 'n hell out there." Well, they'd be the right ones. |

After Ramsey helped pry us from where we had melted into the seat, they went right to work being the perfect hosts.
They took us hiking at Red Rock Crossing, Tuzigoot National Park, Oak Creek Canyon, Cathedral Rock, Bell Rock and
even some nice walks around the neighborhood. Sedona's another beautiful dot on this planet and certainly a great place if you're looking for a nice Vortex
to renew yourself. Yep, that's what I said. Let me explain it like this. I'll put everything I know about
Vortexes between the following quotes: " ". Now you know what I know. Bonnie and Ramsey's house is actually in Oak Creek, just South of Sedona and that's actually got a lot of
advantages, especially during peak tourist season. Downtown Sedona get's pretty jammed up when all the old
hippies cram the streets with their Volkswagen Vans looking to be "Vortexed." |
