July 2009 - Choir Tour:
Day Nine - Ponte de Lima & Guimarães

Day Nine - Ponte de Lima

Left Santiago this morning and headed south for Portugal. Our first stop was in the riverside town of Ponte de Lima, named for the Roman stone-arch bridge that spans the Lima River.

We visited the Museu dos Terceiros, housing sacred art and carvings. We also toured the Palacio dos Marqueses de Ponte de Lima, the town hall that was formerly a fortress-palace.

Day Nine (cont.) - Guimarães

Later we continue to Guimarães, where after checking into our hotel, the evening was ours to relax. I think quite a few of us just hung around the pool and the patio, eliminating hops-based beverages.
